Well the storm past around mid-day and Will and I started the clean up process.
Step 1 - Power wash from stem to stern
Power washing (the unit puts out 1650 PSI) got much of the grime off, but left behind some serious staining caused by a combination of mildew and pine sap.
Step 2 - wash with Boat Soap
We used a stiff plastic bristled brush with a bucket of suds. This step further cleaned her up but there were still some really tough stains.
Step 3 - scrub the stains with a 4:1 bleach solution
Given the tough stains I felt that bleach was really the only effective option. It worked well and we made sure to rise the hull often as we went along.
After 4-5 hours of scrubbing she is looking much better. The cockpit still needs some work. I'll dive back in tomorrow and finish the scrub down.
